Ricky Rickshaw
Rides is a Christian run, family oriented business designed to provide a fun, friendly energy efficient alternative for transportation
in tourist destinations.
As a family
run and oriented business, we refuse to display advertising for any SOBs nor any business we feel offensive or
detrimental to family values. Launched
in Houston, there Ricky Rickshaw Rides provides free (tip based) short distance rides in downtown, mid-town, Reliant Park,
The Heights, River Oaks, West University, Mintutemaid Park as well as private parties, weddings, or corporate events.
Our business model is to
have advertisers pay for the ride, which we refer to as RideVertising™, and the drivers get paid strictly on tips.
Passengers only tip the driver for what they feel the ride experience was worth.

Ricky Rickshaw has
taken numerous steps to ensure the safety of both the vehicles and the drivers including: - driver background checks (criminal, driving and sex offender) -
daily vehicle inspections - Seat belts for passengers - Helmets for passengers under age 21 -
Safety yellow driver shirts for high visibility - Restricted speed (150cc 4 stroke motor not real loud or fast) and roadway access (no freeways by company
policy) Our
policies and procedures were created by Chris Laflin and Harold Barthe, a retired 27 year veteran of the HPD. Harold
has over 200,000 hours on a motorcycle during his career and was instrumental in the formation of both the mounted patrol
and truck inspection divisions at HPD in addition to being a past board member of the Houston Police Officer’s Union.
Harold currently serves as a Harris County Sheriff as well.
At Ricky, we take safety very seriously and have voluntarily implemented
all recommended steps by Harold to ensure we have done all we can to ensure our passenger, driver and vehicle safety.
