Winter Nature Retreat for Boys 2017 - Feb 24 2017
This weekend-long retreat will be about learning essential nature skills, basic sustenance needs, wisdom of the ancestors, primitive firemaking and food preparation, animal forms and tracking, ice fishing, navigation, orienteering, safety, climate adjustments, and awareness. We will also have fun, games, handcrafting, bedtime stories around the fire, drumming circles, and discussion circles on sustainability, non-conflict communication and team building. We will be situated in a woodland cabin heated by a woodburning stove in Monmouth County, NJ (Manalapan Township), among 250 acres of woodlands, nature trails, orienteering courses and streams. The program will be led by a group of mentors, teachers and apprentices affiliated with Antinanco Earth Arts School. The group will be limited to 10 children, first registered, first in.
